According to British news reports, singing sensation Susan Boyle had a male intruder break into her house yesterday. A man was waiting on Boyle's steps when she came home from London, and ran past her and out of the house when she came in the front door of her Blackburn, Scotland home. Boyle was in London recording her contribution to an upcoming Haitian charity single, slated to be a cover of R.E.M.'s "Everybody Hurts."

She's not covering it alone, it's a Band-Aid type situation. I'm sure it'll be shit, but don't really care.

I think anyone who actually likes R.E.M. usually hits fast-forward when this song comes on anyway.

I'm an REM fan yes I skip over this song, liked it came out but it's so overplayed. I'm sure this cover version is going to horrible but it's for charity so whatever.

"One can have great concern for the people of Haiti, but it's another thing to inflict daily torture on the people of England"

With apologies to Morrissey :o

I think it's really thoughtless. It's too literal.

"When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on
Don't let yourself go, 'cause everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes"

I think about the people, some of them still alive, lying under those collapsed buildings and this just seems very misguided and completely inappropriate.

I don't think the kind of people who make and buy charity records do it for the lyrical content. The song sounds sad, the earthquake was (apparently) sad, therefore they must go together.

I mean, Princess Diana wasn't actually a candle.
