George Lopez is a genius. Seriously, one of the funniest comedians ever in my opinion. Good choice, Morrissey. Or Morrissey's people. Or whoever.

Really??? That show is worse than the new Jay Leno show . I wish he made a return apperance on The Craig Ferguson Show ..Wonder what he's gonna play?..Since he is supporting Swords maybe "if you don't like me, then don't look at me" perhaps?

Ah, I see :D
I rarely ever go to the mainpage anymore. I usually just go straight here. :guitar:

Hmm. It's sort of hard to tell what he'd play. My guess is 'Ganglord;' it seems to be the signature of 'Swords,' IMO.

Oh, I was referring to George Lopez the man, I haven't actually seen his show. :blushing:

Where is the show taped?? What time do they tape the show? I looked at the shows website and it shows that there are no tickets available for that night (Dec. 9th). :( Maybe we could hang out at the stage door and catch a glimps of Moz.

I need to calm down. Too much caffeine in my blood stream.

Oh my god, it's Robby!

The George Lopez show is filmed in Burbank, and they have stand-by tickets. My guess is it's too last minute to get any though.

He needs to. He's never been funny. I only like "Headlines".
Everything I've read over the months says his ratings are sinking. Jump ship, Jay.

That show is like a step down from the Wendy Williams show.

He gave Sandra Bullock a Chola makeover!

If it's so bad I wonder why McHale leaves him alone? Maybe he's a sacred Mexican cow because most of The Soup's staff lives in the Tunerville gang neighborhood. :p

Why hasn't any good friend told Morrissey he got that spanish word wrong? "DIVERTES" means nothing. All it take is someone telling it to his face.

George Lopez was utterly horrible and so unfunny. If you see me doubling over in laughter it's because girlxafraid was fake laughing so loud that I couldn't keep a straight face.

He already knows.

That song was called "Don't Make Fun Of Daddy's Voice" and some people think at the end of the song I attempt to sing Spanish but this is not true... I attempt to sing my own language which very few people know about...

I thought we established that it isn't Spanish. Morrissey certainly agrees, is my point. You were wrong to say he thinks he's singing in Spanish.

Sigh. Of course it's a joke. I think that whole part of the song is tongue-in-cheek. I also think it's annoying and condescending for some of us to say Moz is unduly ignorant of his ungrammatical faux-Spanish. He obviously knows it's not grammatical and that it isn't really Spanish.

I'm a little confused. When you translate the word "divertes" in a sentence on internet translating sites, it translates it to the word funny or fun. If it's not a word, or a commonly used slang word, why does it translate?

It's blatantly an incorrect attempt at the Spanish translation of "Don't make fun of daddy", I don't understand how people could think it was anything else :squiffy:

The part in Spanish is discussed in here (http://forums.morrissey-solo.com/showthread.php?t=62690/")

According to JLA75 "no te diviertes con papi" translates to "don't amuse yourself with daddy".

Possibly Morrissey's artistic instinct chose those words because they fit with the melody.

May I? :)

The proper Spanish translation of "don't make fun of daddy" would be "no te burlas de papi" (well, according to a combination of my OK Spanish and an online dictionary). "No te diviertes con papi" works too, it's just the pronunciation that he keeps getting wrong, but I think he knows that. :D

that's absolutely correct.
Just saying, ringorosso, that when he says "devertes" or "divertes", he's not saying it correctly. I'm not trying to be a pain, everybody knows by now I'm from South America and make mistakes, but he only uses a handful of Spanish words in his life and I know I would love it for someone to correct me.

I just think that some people will take offense of anything and jump to "defend" Morrissey like he's watching and will like them more for doing so.

Ah I see. The subjunctive/imperative then? Either that or wordreference gave me the wrong infinitive.

I think people are forgetting what the song is called.

Daddy doesn't speak properly as something got stuck in his throat (a penis most likely) therefore his diction (pun intended) is not clear...hence the mispronounced word in the final refrain.
